I’ve heard about this, the National Novel Writing Month, but never gave it much thought. That’s different this year. I’ve decided to give it a shot.
The goal of NaNoWriMo is to write a 50,000 word novel in the month of November. That’s 1,667 words a day. Yep, that’s a lot. More than I’ve ever been able to do before but that’s part of the challenge with this. I need a kick in the butt now and then. I’m way behind on the next Taleweaver’s Song book and way behind on everything else that I want to do. This will be a way of locking my tendency to procrastinate away.
I find that I do my best work under pressure and I HATE (with a passion) missing deadlines. At work, I tend to find a way to make the project happen under the deadlines and I can see that happening here.
Now to just figure out what project to do. Use it to finish up The Orc Plains (which should clock in around 70k+ when done) or do something else? Something just for #nanowrimo?
I have until the end of October to figure it out. The pressure is starting early.
